Tomorrow is “last chance” illegal buoy give back

A Clemson professor says an eastern migration of coyotes has landed the animals in every South Carolina county. And Greg Yarrow says those coyotes are here to stay. If you listen closely when you turn out the lights at night, you’re likely to hear a coyote howl. Learning to live with coyotes is becoming a must for livestock and poultry farmers and other property owners. The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, in conjunction with Clemson Extension and the South Carolina Trappers Association, is hosting a series of workshops to teach proper trapping techniques and other methods to control coyotes. Abbeville County cattle and sheep farmer Jason Ashley plans to attend one of the workshops. Coyotes have killed some of his neighbor’s goats. And Ashley has installed expensive fencing to keep them away.
