Tomorrow key day for new jail

Tomorrow could be pivotal in when Oconee’s new jail will finally open its doors.  There’s now a sign on the new building and Sheriff Crenshaw possesses the keys, but until he gets a final sign-off from state inspectors he won’t be able to transfer the inmates from the old jail to the new one by mid next month, which is his hope.  The inspectors from the state Department of Corrections are to return tomorrow to evaluate whether the building’s ventilation system has been adjusted adequately to pull smoke out of the building fast enough.
