Tragic crash near Seneca UPDATE – Names Released

A combination of cars and pickup trucks crashed around 7:15 last night at a traffic light intersection near Seneca. Authorities report the deaths of two people—the driver and a passenger in a Mazda sedan. Coroner Karl Addis says the two deceased were 28 year old Michele Wright Silvers and 29 year old  Joshua Adam Silvers, both of Iva. Addis says Mr. Silvers was ejected from the car and died of blunt force trauma. Addis says Mrs. Silvers, the driver of the 1995 Mazda, suffered cardiac arrest and was transported to Oconee Medical Center where she was pronounced dead. By 6:30 this morning, the intersection of 123 and Sheep Farm Road/Wells Highway remained closed to traffic. Troopers have identified other drivers and passengers involved in the accident were residents of Seneca, Walhalla, and Westminster, and they were sent to local and area hospitals. The patrol identified one of the injured drivers as Drew Greene of Walhalla, who was airlifted to a Greenville hospital. According to Addis, the two people who died were traveling Sheep Farm Road when their sedan was broad-sided by a pickup headed eastbound on the 123/the Sandifer Boulevard. It was then that the three other vehicles became involved. Troopers have released the following information about other drivers and passengers: 18-year old Ashley Keese of Westminster was driving a 2012 Toyota and she was taken to Oconee Medical Center. Eighteen-year old Destiny Compton of Westminster, driver of a 1984 Ford, was taken to OMC, along with her passenger, Hailey Lone of Seneca. Fifty-three-year old Terry Hurdt of Walhalla, driving a 2012 Jeep, was not hurt.
