Tree-cutting accident fatal

This morning’s tree-cutting accident near downtown Seneca turned fatal for a 49-year old man who worked for a heating and air conditioning business. Coroner Karl Addis says Tyrome Harris of 205 N. Oak Street died late this morning at the hospital of injuries during a fall while cutting a tree limb. The incident occurred at Harris’s place of work—David’s Heating and Air, at 309 W. N. 2nd. Street. According to the coroner, Harris was running a chain saw from a ladder at a height estimated between 12 and 14 feet; he and several other employees were trimming limbs from a tree in front of the business. Around 11:10 a-m, a tree limb estimated to be 20” in diameter was being cut when it snapped and apparently struck Harris, causing him to fall. He fell face down onto a concrete sidewalk. An autopsy has been ordered.
