Trial date for John Doe v. Richard Trey Gardner III

An Oconee court roster shows a civil case by a former student against his coach will go to trial next month in Walhalla.  The roster for the December non-jury term of Common Pleas Court sets Tuesday and Wednesday, December 9 and 10 for the trial of John Doe against Richard Trey Gardner III.  The plaintiff, identified by the pseudonym John Doe, alleges assault, slander, and libel against Gardner who was fired from his job as Walhalla Middle School teacher and coach and has since been sent to prison.  Acording to the lawsuit, the student who Gardner abused was a middle school student.  He’s now an adult.
