Trial docket set for July term

The case of a Seneca woman who is alleged to have de-frauded the South Carolina Lottery in 2012 is listed at the top of the docket for General Sessions Court next month in Walhalla.  According to the office of the 10th Circuit Solicitor, Stephanie Oprandi is charged with defrauding the state lottery and breach of trust with fraudulent intent.  At the time of her arrest two and a half years ago, Oprandi was identified in law enforcement reports as a former employee of Loco Mart #2 on the Wells Highway—identified as the victim of the fraud.  The police and lottery officials at the time were attempting to determine how many lottery tickets were missing and how many of them were cashed.  Judge Scott Sprouse will preside during court week, July 13-17 at the Oconee Courthouse.
