An Oconee County medical malpractice trial, now in its third week, is taking a toll on the jury. Outside the presence of the jury yesterday, Judge Cordell Maddox told the lawyers that he’s worried about “the jury’s frustration level.” There are some indications that if the trial doesn’t finish by Friday, there will be weekend sessions. Yesterday the defense continued to call witnesses in its attempt to defuse and refute the plaintiff’s allegations that Dorothy Reynolds’ death in 2011 resulted from insufficient care at Seneca Health and Rehabilitation. Yesterday’s defense witnesses included a dietary manager, a physical therapist, and the activity director at the facility.
