Troopers investigate double-fatality

South Carolina Highway Patrol and its “MAKE” accident reconstruction team are investigating last night’s double-fatality traffic accident south of Seneca. Troopers say involved in the accident at S.C. 24 and 59 late last night were a car, a pickup truck, and a moped. The 17-year old moped riders, Adam George Ostrander Jr. and Charles’c Aviana Skelton, both died. A spokesman for the patrol has confirmed to 96.3/WGOG NEWS that one of the matters under investigation is whether the only light emitted by the moped was a flashlight taped to the vehicle. Coroner Karl Addis says the presumed operator of the moped was Ostrander and that Skelton, it is further presumed, was its passenger. Troopers identified the drivers of the GMC pickup truck as Johnny Roach of Fair Play and the 2002 Mazda as Caleb Ortega of Seneca.
