Truck driver escapes injury

The Madison resident, identified as the driver of a wrecked dump truck, was walking around the scene of yesterday afternoon’s accident near Westminster, on the Welcome Church Road, and described as fortunate he escaped injury. According to one of the responders to the accident, a load of gravel on the truck apparently shifted, leading to the accident in which the truck wound up on its side. A spill of 10-gallons of fuel was handled by a crew from Oconee HAZMAT.
