Trustee pronounces new school ready

The Walhalla area trustee for Oconee public schools pronounced the district’s newest school building ready for classes. The new Walhalla High will open for students in August, and District Two’s Rosemary Bailes made her assessment as the result of a tour yesterday of the new high school in the Picket Post Community. She and other members of the Walhalla Rotary Club toured the new school. Bailes said, “The building is in beautiful shape. Teachers have already begun to move their items into the classrooms. Everything, except the final polishing of the floor, is ready for opening next year.” And next year is August 18.
