Trustees poised for additions to conduct policy

At their May meeting, Oconee school trustees are poised to consider additions to the district’s code of conduct.  On Monday’s agenda are the following additions for the board’s consideration:  “In-school suspensions may not be appealed” and “A principal has the right to place a student on a behavior contract at any time.”  The district forbids the possession of prohibited weapons including knives with blades of more than two inches.  On Monday the trustees will consider adding to the section “or any other object intended to cause bodily harm.”  The board will meet at 6 Monday night at district headquarters in Walhalla.
