Tucker Hipps reward up to at least $22 thousand

Oconee Sheriff’s Office and Crime Stoppers of Oconee announce today that an anonymous reward of $20 thousand is posted for information that helps solve the death investigation of Clemson student Tucker Hipps. The $20 thousand an addition to $2 thousand that Crime Stoppers offers and any reward money generated through a Clemson student who started a GoFundMe campaign. On September 22, thirty students affiliated with Sigma Phi Epsilon went on a group run around 5:30 that morning. They left Donaldson Hall, ran toward Fike Recreation Center, turned right on Williamson Road and then left on 93. The run continued on highway 93 facing traffic, across from Pickens County in Oconee. The group ran single file. They turned slightly after the bridge and returned to Donaldson Hall. On realizing that no one saw Hipps return, group members started their own search. Hipps was not reported missing until around 1 p-m. His body was eventually found in the lake on the Oconee side—headfirst in rocky, shallow water. Those with information about the case are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 864/638-STOP or text a tip to 274637. You don’t have to give your name and, depending on what you have to report, the reward money awaits you. Your identity is to remain unknown. Investigators are accepting direct calls to 864/718-1052.
