Tuesday hearing likely to be minus certain details

On tap at next week’s Oconee County Council meeting is a hearing to allow the public to sound off on “Project Sarah”—the county code-named project that has been revealed to involve Michelin North America. A Michelin operation, offering high-paying jobs, has been the talk all over Oconee, especially in southern Oconee where it appears destined for the county’s Golden Corner Commerce Park on highway 59. But questions persist, such as how much acreage Michelin will require and for exactly what purpose, have yet to be answered. And Oconee’s economic development recruiter, Richard Blackwell, says because there are details to be taken care of, not all questions are likely to be answered Tuesday night. But “all in due time,” he promises.
