Tuesday is a special election day

May 15, 2014

Tuesday next week is Special Election Day for the voters in Oconee County Council District Three. To be decided is who fills the remaining six and a half months of the term of the late Archie Barron. Andy Inabinet goes into the special election the only ballot candidate, and he does so having won a Republican Party special primary by 32 votes over Paul Cain. Inabinet is hoping his supporters will turn out to support him. Though Inabinet is the only ballot candidate, voters may write-in the name of others. Joy Brooks, county elections director, says voting will be open to District Three voters Tuesday from 7 a-m to 7 p-m. Depending on where District Three voters are registered, three separate voting locations will be in operation: the Shaver Recreation Complex for voters in Seneca precincts 1-4; Lydia Baptist Church in Newry, for voters in Newry-Corinth; and Goddard Street, Utica for voters in Utica. Brooks, along with League of Women Voters’ leader Sandra Gray, urges all District Three voters to exercise their right and vote on Tuesday.
