Oconee County park officials say the crowds during the Memorial Day weekend filled two county parks beyond capacity. Phil Shirley, director of Parks, Recreation and Tourism, says the county was happy to host the visitors. At one point, High Falls Park had to close the gate to additional guests. Some of those turned away found recreation opportunities at the South Cove Park.
