Two home burglaries near Westminster

Two home burglaries occurred near Westminster, and the Oconee Sheriff’s Office appeals to the public for help in identifying those responsible for the crimes.  Medication and about $150 dollars were taken from a home on the Coffee Road—believed to have been stolen by a man or a woman or both who were visitors to the home.  The suspects in that Coffee Road crime may have been in a white or tan pickup truck, possibly a GMC, with a broken windshield.  In the second, at a home on the Oakway Road a similar set of circumstances repeated themselves.  A family member later at 182 and the Burris Road found a billfold and the identification of a deceased family member.  The male suspect is described as white, 6-feet, around 200 pounds, brown hair, and dark clothes.  The female wore glasses and appeared to be in her early 20s with dark eyes, black shoulder-length hair.  Their vehicle was described as an early 2000 model gold Chevy 1500 2-door.  According to the Sheriff’s Office, if someone comes to your door or drives into your yard and you don’t know who it is, homeowners have the right not to answer the door or step outside your home.  Keep your doors locked and don’t allow strangers to follow you into your home if you don’t want them there.  If you can help the Sheriff’s Office solve one or both of these crimes, call Crime Stoppers at 864-638-STOP.  You may qualify for a cash reward.
