Two Oconee women arrested

Two Oconee women have been arrested in connection with the theft of cash and jewelry from a home left empty while the owners made a trip to the beach. The Oconee Sheriff’s Department reports Jessica Leigh Wilbanks, 33-year old Westminster resident, was arrested yesterday and charged with receiving stolen goods. Earlier the sheriff’s office reported the arrest of Wilbanks’ co-defendant, Ashley Brooke Sanders. Sanders lives on the same street near Seneca where the jewelry and $575 in cash were taken between June 20 and 29. The investigation revealed no forced entry to the home on Forest Drive.
