Two policemen shot in Lavonia, Georgia

A manhunt has led to the capture of a South Carolina man accused of shooting two Lavonia, Georgia police officers last night near I-85.  The officers were described as having suffered non-life threatening wounds after they had pulled over a car in the parking lot of a restaurant on Georgia 17.  The police say they arrested Greenville resident Khari Anthony Dashuan Gordon, suspected to have been driving a stolen car. The 22-year old Gordon is charged with aggravated assault on a police officer, criminal attempt to commit murder, and the possession of a weapon during the commission of a felony. The Facebook page of the Lavonia Chamber of Commerce identified one of the wounded officers as Capt. Michael Schulman.  The name of the second officer was not immediately disclosed.
