Two teenagers killed

A late night accident in rural Oconee involving a moped and a pickup truck killed the two people who were the apparent operators of both vehicles. Last night’s accident at 10:40 at S.C. 24 and 59 in the Tokeena-Crossroads community took the lives of Adam George Ostrander Jr., of Mary Sue Lane, Seneca and Charles’c Aviana Skelton of Delphi Drive, Seneca. Both were 17 years old. According to Coroner Karl Addis, Ostrander was the presumed driver of the moped and Skelton the presumed passenger on the moped. There was no immediate information available on the driver of the pickup, nor his or her injuries, if any. The moped was eastbound. State troopers are investigating. Addis says the teenagers suffered multiple blunt force traumatic injuries and neither wore a helmet.
