Two-week trial to stretch to three

Oconee Common Pleas Judge Cordell Maddox complained yesterday that a medical malpractice trial, now in its second week, is moving at “a snail’s pace” and he told the jury the trial won’t finish this week. Maddox announced that the South Carolina Court Administration has approved a third week to begin Monday, September 29th. Which means that once tomorrow’s session ends there will be a one-week break before the trial resumes. Yesterday attorneys continued to question witnesses for plaintiff Russell Reynolds III, personal representative of the estate of Dorothy Reynolds. Taking the stand yesterday afternoon was a certified public accountant from Tallahassee, Florida, Victoria Fierro.   The plaintiff’s side alleges medical malpractice against Seneca Health and Rehabilitation on the Tokeena Road in the death of 87-year old Dorothy Reynolds.
