U-haul vans at Oconee Economic Development

U-haul vans were spotted yesterday in front of the Oconee County Economic Development Office in Walhalla. The staff has begun to vacate their two-story house building office in the county seat, in advance of their move to the 123 Seneca By-Pass in an office building now occupied by the Oconee Alliance. The county’s E-D commission and the alliance, a group of public and private interests, are merging—in a move aimed at attracting greater economic development in the county. The EDC has announced that its Christmas drop-in will take place at the Oconee Alliance office, and the EDC’s Russell Johnson says the hope is for his office to be doing business there in about three weeks.
