“Ugly” concrete tank is no more

An eyesore is no more in Seneca.  And those who live on a lake peninsula are pleased, and so is Bob Faires, director of utilities.  Residents of Normandy Shores complained to the city about what they saw as an “ugly round concrete tank” at the water treatment plant.  That tank served the facility for decades in the process of drinking water treatment.  But thanks to a demolition crew and a new handling process the tank is now out of service.  In a ceremony photographed for the city’s newsletter Phil Lane, president of the Normandy Shores Home Owners Association, took the first swing at the tank using a gold-painted sledge hammer provided by the contractor Harper Construction.
