Police in Lavonia Georgia arrested a man on Wednesday, on charges of possession of methamphetamine.   Authorities say 30 year old Jeffery Wayne Cheek of Martin Georgia, returned to the bank where he had dropped the drugs.  WLHR’s MJ Kneiser reports Lavonia’ police chief Bruce Carlisle made the arrest Wednesday, when Cheek called the bank to speak about his account.  According to reports, Cheek had stopped at Pinnacle Bank on Georgia 17 last week to speak with the bank regarding his account.  That is when he allegedly dropped the drugs, and subsequently returned to retrieve them.  Chief Carlisle says video surveillance captured the incident, and when Cheek realized he couldn’t retrieve his lost “object” he decided to go on the run.  When he called the bank authorities were able to trace the number and make the arrest at a Lavonia apartment complex.
