Utica home scene of repeat crimes

Damage Heat Pump  A home near Seneca in Utica community was the scene during the last two months of crime, and the Sheriff’s Office is appealing for help from the public to help solve the crimes. They occurred January 4 and February 7 at 15 Powell Street. In the first incident, someone damaged a heat pump around 7:30 in the morning. A deputy detected that the door lock to the crawl space had been broken. In the second crime, someone went in thru a window and stole paint, a stove, a shop vacuum, and a 10-foot aluminum ladder. The crimes left the homeowner facing a $5 thousand bill to replace the heating unit and a loss of $660 dollars to cover the items stolen by the burglar.
