Utility part of Streetscape to be bid

Drawings are to be prepared before Walhalla calls for contractor bids to undertake water and sewer line work which Mayor Danny Edwards says will be the next step in starting Streetscape downtown. Edwards says meetings have taken place involving the city’s utilities superintendent, a representative of the Streetscape project landscape engineering company, and Neal Workman, a contractor who is acting as unpaid advisor for the re-make the four downtown Main Street blocks between Ann and Tugaloo streets. In the meantime, Edwards says, efforts continue to adjust the scope of the project to bring it in line with available funding.
