Vandals leave incriminating evidence

Vandals marked up Walhalla’s main playground with sidewalk chalk, but they left enough incriminating evidence behind that the police were able to make arrests within two days. Capt. Paul Harris says what happened Sunday afternoon at Sertoma Field has cost the city $500 dollars, including the bill for a pressure wash of the picnic shelter and concession stand at the backside of the recreation complex. Harris said the vandals left names and phone numbers on the walls of the facilities and that led the police yesterday to arrest two people. Christopher Bryan Holbrooks, 27-year old resident of Raceway Drive, Seneca, and Crystal Jeanette Shelton, 31-year old resident of Morton Road, Walhalla were charged with graffiti vandalism, as well contributing to the delinquency of a minor. According to Harris, the contributing delinquency of a minor offenses allege that the two encouraged Shelton’s three children to participate in the graffiti.
