Visits to a showcase home to benefit DAR school

The Tamassee DAR School, supported by the Daughters of the American Revolution, has been designated as one of two charities to receive gifts and donations that’ll accrue from the showcasing of a house for sale in the nearby Cliffs at Keowee Falls. And members of the public get the chance to see and tour that house now through Sunday, August 31. The project is referred to as “Southern Living Custom Builders Program Showcase.” And Jason Eller, chief development office for the DAR school, says those who visit the showcase home will be able to make a gift or a donation to the school by leaving it in a drop box. Susan Vernon of Dillard Jones builders says it’s a beautiful lake view home of 3,200 square feet, with real stone on the exterior. Special weekend hours to see the home are Fridays from 1 to 6 p-m, Saturdays 10 to 6, and Sundays 1-5. By making appointment with realtors, the home may be seen at other times.
