Voluntary retirement offered

Voluntary retirement offers are being made to Oconee Medical Center employees who qualify, but a hospital spokesman says this is nothing new. Hunter Kome, chief operating officer, said today, “We are offering voluntary exit right now as an expense reduction measure. We typically offer it three or four times per year. The census (patient number) continues to be lower than budget, so we have to adjust our operations accordingly.” The OMC board holds its regular March meeting at 6 o’clock tonight.
