“CU Succeed” launched in Oconee County

Child and teen deaths, third graders testing below state reading standards, and children living in families where no parent works outside the home are all problems identified in Oconee County. A new effort, “CU Succeed”, has been launched to address those problems. Oconee has been chosen to be one of four counties in the state for an initiative to reach out to hundreds of young parents. It’s designed to encourage pregnant and parenting teens to stay in school, delay the next pregnancy, improve parenting skills and become better connected to supportive resources. Young parents interested in participating should contact the Joseph F. Sullivan Center at 864/656-3076 or the Parenting Place in Easley at 864/898-5583 and ask about “CU Succeed.”
