Mayor’s belief in the downtown could translate

Part of Dan Alexander’s strategy for a better Seneca is to talk up a rebirth for a downtown hit hard when shopping centers began to pop up near the edge of the city limits. The Seneca mayor, however, may some day put some of his own money into what he envisions downtown. Alexander confirmed to 96.3/WGOG NEWS that he has thought about converting part of his Ramcat Alley building into residential quarters, and admits that upstairs condos are something that he would like throughout Seneca’s downtown. He points to the success Greenville has enjoyed in turning sections of older buildings into homes for people to live, shop and play in the downtown.  Currently, he said, none of Seneca’s buildings in its downtown core commercial section are being used for homes.
