Minister to invite councilmen to ride the bus!

An outspoken advocate of extending passenger bus service to Walhalla wants the members of the Oconee County Council to experience what they are talking about. After receiving a report from a task force, council members expressed concern that the cost to buy buses for adding routes to Walhalla and Westminster may not be financially feasible without a corresponding interest on the part of the public to get onboard. The council decided to ask Seneca, which operates an all-electric bus system, if it would be willing to run test routes in the Walhalla and Westminster areas. The Rev. Richard Reams of St. Luke United Methodist Church says he’s going to invite the councilmen to ride with him on “CAT” bus routes and experience their importance to riders.
