At Keowee Key and Asheville they gather for Sanders

At places such as Keowee Key in Oconee County and Asheville in North Carolina, people turned out last night for an event for Bernie Sanders, an Independent Party U-S senator from Vermont who is running as a Democrat for President next year. Oconee County resident Paulette Keffas-Chassin considers herself a volunteer for Sanders 2016 and, when asked, campaign financing is the issue with which she completely agrees with the candidate. Sanders refuses to take money from corporations or what are called Super PACS, and Keffas-Chassin says he’s the only candidate talking about how big money has compromised our country’s political system. Though an Oconee Democratic Party worker, Keffas-Chassin says her support for Sanders represents herself as an individual and does not speak for other county Democrats who may support Hillary Clinton or other Democrats in the race.
