Walhalla band excels

The Walhalla Middle School Band, under the direction of Gena Sykes Turpin, was recently awarded the rating of “Superior With Distinction” at the South Carolina Band Director’s Association Concert Performance Assessment (CPA).  SC Bands use the CPA to rate their learning advancement through the year. The band is critiqued and graded by a panel of three judges.  The Walhalla Middle School CPA Band was made up of 76 seventh and eighth graders.  The band received the highest grade possible, a superior rating.  It’s the fifth year in a row that the band has earned a Superior award.
