Walhalla invites water study proposals

Securing Walhalla’s source for water has been a top priority for a couple of the city’s mayors. Now Walhalla invites qualified engineering companies to submit proposals to study a new raw water source and plant upgrade or replacement. Scott Parris, Walhalla utilities director, says his city wants to hear from professional engineers as to what the city should do. According to Parris, for Walhalla to acquire an intake into Lake Keowee will require an application to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission—-a task he expects the engineers to undertake for his city. The deadline for the engineering proposals is Friday, November 15.
