Walhalla Lions thanked for their help

For its generosity and kindness, the Walhalla Lions Club is receiving plaudits from those involved with the project to restore Old St. John’s. Since 2009, the Lions Club has donated $2,600. The last fundraising breakfast, March 2, netted $500 which will be the club’s final contribution. Its members wish to return to their Sight Conservation work on behalf of the under-privileged. According to St. John’s supporter  Maxie Duke, final interior work, wiring, painting, pews and finishing the entryway should be completed, possibly this summer or fall. And, Duke says, city officials promise the restroom to serve Kaufman Park and Old St. John’s Meeting House and Wedding Chapel.
