Walhalla student headed to Governor’s School

Gage Picotte A student at Walhalla High and the Hamilton Career Center will start his junior year next year at the South Carolina Governor’s School for Arts and Humanities. Gage Picotte’s acceptance as one of 14 students across the state for the nine-month program squares with his hopes for his life beyond high school and college. Applicants for the drama program were required to perform one contemporary monologue, one Shakespearean monologue, and sing 16 songs of their choosing. Before applying to the Governor’s School, Gage has appeared in many community theatre performances at the Clemson Little Theatre.
