Walhalla student to be honored in Columbia

Palmetto Critters  A student at Walhalla’s James Brown Elementary, Carson King, gets a trip to Columbia tomorrow where he is to be recognized as the state winner of the Palmetto Pride’s elementary art contest “Litter Trashes Everyone.” The recognition will pay off for Carson. He is to receive a $500 check. His school gets a check for $1 thousand and Carson’s art teacher is to receive $500 dollars. A reception will take place at Columbia’s Tapp’s Arts Center. Entries from other school level winners will also be displayed at that reception.
