Walhalla wants to take big drink out of Keowee!

In the next 12 months, Walhalla’s top utility official vows to get going on the long-talked about project to secure a new water source for the city. “This is going to be the year that I think we’ll get going on our intake into Lake Keowee,” Utilities Director Scott Parris told the mayor and city council last night. Parris also hinted at the possibility of expanding the capacity of the city’s treatment plant on the Westminster Highway by an additional 1.5 million gallons a day.
