Walhallan arrested in club burglary

A 30-year old Walhalla man has been arrested on multiple charges from a burglary this summer at the Blue Ridge Shrine Club in Oconee County’s Bountyland Community. The Sheriff’s Office has announced charges of third degree burglary, grand larceny and giving false information to a law enforcement officer against Joseph Ryan Jones of Kenneth Street. Jones was arrested yesterday afternoon. The charge of giving false information alleges Jones misinformed a deputy sheriff about the location of a large smoker stolen during the burglary. That smoker was valued at $2,500. According to the Sheriff’s Office, a picture of a possible suspect vehicle helped lead to Jones’s arrest.
