Walhallan arrested in Georgia

A suspect in a Walhalla apartment home burglary has been arrested in Georgia on unrelated charges. Lt. Paul Harris of the Walhalla Police Department confirmed this afternoon that his department holds an outstanding warrant charging Aaron Scott Gunn, 21, of Bagwell Lane, Walhalla with burglary October 7 at Stand Pointe Vista Apartments. According to Harris, Gunn remains in a Rabun County jail where he was taken by the Clayton police as the result of a traffic stop. According to Clayton’s Sky 104 Radio, the Clayton police, after receiving permission from the driver, William Ernest Schiemann of Dillard, to search the vehicle, officers located an open container of alcohol. Schiemann was charged with speeding in excess of maximum limits and possession of container of alcohol. The Clayton police say Gunn was one of two passengers in the vehicle and that he was arrested on charges of possession of an open container, giving false name, address or birthdate to law enforcement. Walhalla officer Harris says Gunn is one of two suspects in the Walhalla police department’s investigation of an apartment unit burglary in which $2,900 worth of goods, including computer and other electronic goods were stolen.
