Walhallan arrested in Seneca woman’s homicide

CalebNathanaelLinart A 30-year old Walhalla man has been arrested and charged with murder in the death of his 27-year old female friend from Seneca. Authorities say the arrest yesterday afternoon of Caleb Nathaniel Linart of 1110 W. S. Broad Street followed an autopsy the day before that showed the victim, Alana Carpenter, died of manual strangulation. Carpenter’s mother had gone to the home and found her daughter’s body. According to a statement from the Sheriff’s Office, Linart told deputies that he and Carpenter had a dispute and he left the home after locking her out. However, according to investigators, information through evidence and interviews was sufficient to charge Linart with murder. Jimmy Watt, spokesman for the Sheriff’s Office, confirmed to 96.3/WGOG NEWS that the presence of investigators, sifting through trash Tuesday at the Five Forks convenience center near Walhalla, was part of the evidence gathering in the case.
