Walhalla’s problematic 2011 trash truck

February 5, 2014

James Moore can only shake his head when he recites the history of Walhalla’s two-and-a-half year old sanitation truck. Moore, director of the city public works department, says he has been forced to send the truck to the repair shop six times—requiring two tow truck bills. But he’s hoping now for better times. Moore indicated to the mayor and city council last night that part of the truck’s problems can be traced to changing standards for diesel-powered vehicles.
