Warrants accuse Townville man

A Townville man has been identified by the Oconee Sheriff’s Office as the suspect in 14 warrants alleging crimes in the southern part of the county.  Warrants that investigators obtained June 9 show 22 year old Robert Jeffrey Hughes of Oak Knoll Drive in Anderson County charged with second degree burglary and petty larceny on S. Retreat Road near Westminster.  And these charges also, according to the Sheriff’s Office:

·        3 counts of Grand Larceny

·        2 counts of Petit Larceny

·        2 counts of 1st Degree Burglary

·        2 counts of Possession of a Stolen Vehicle

·        1 count each of 2nd Degree Burglary, Breaking into a Motor Vehicle, Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon, Failure to Stop for a Blue Light, Driving Under Suspension, Malicious Injury to Real Property, and Resisting Arrest with a Deadly Weapon.

The total combined bond amount on 14 of the charges against Hughes is $214,782.50.  Hughes was given no bond on the two 1st Degree Burglary charges. He remains in custody at the Oconee Detention Center.  A hold has also been placed on Hughes by the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office.
