Water improvement project completed

A public hearing this week marked the end of a water line improvement project in one of Walhalla’s oldest neighborhoods.  A representative of the local government service agency, the South Carolina Appalachian Council of Governments, presided at the City Hall hearing for the purpose of reviewing how well the water upgrade was carried out in the city’s Chicopee Mill Village.  As the result of a second phase of work, water customers there should be enjoying improved water quality and pressure.  City Administrator Nancy Goehle said no members of the public attended the hearing.
