Watt represents OSD at state event

Jimmy Watt, public information officer for the Oconee Sheriff’s Department, represented the department during a “Zero Tolerance for Litter” press conference on the statehouse grounds in Columbia. Law enforcement officers and officials from across the state attended. And the Oconee Sheriff’s Office is taking part in the “Zero Tolerance for Litter” campaign this month, as part of efforts to combat Oconee’s litter problem. “The enforcement officers here today know that litter kills,” according to Linda Shadel, director of operations for Palmetto Pride. “Plastic bags blow out of the back of trucks and block the view of cars behind them. Vehicles dodger litter on highways and swerve into on-coming traffic. Litter threatens community safety, litter destroys South Carolina’s economic growth.”
