WEAR IT to Win It!

The Army Corps of Engineers has started a social media campaign to promote the use this summer of life jackets in the water. The campaign is called the WEAR IT to WIN campaign. Every Wednesday through Labor Day the communications office of the Savannah District will select a photograph posted during the previous calendar week and award a prize. Photos will be judged on subject matter, focus, creativity, and overall emphasis on water safety. Corps spokeswoman Tracy Robillard says it’s important to make sure if you are on the water, you have your safety jackets with you. According to WLHR in Lavonia, Georgia there have been 25 fatalities on Lake Hartwell since 2009.
