*As the South Carolina Gamecocks prepare to face Arkansas on the road this Saturday, All-America defensive end Jadeveon Clowney did not practice on Tuesday, but spoke with the media about the events that unfolded last Saturday night when he did not play against Kentucky due to a muscle strain around his ribcage, calling it a miscommunication between coaches and trainers. Clowney said, despite rumors that he is holding himself out to prepare for the NFL draft, he is committed to the Gamecocks and has not played his final college game. Clowney is listed as questionable for Saturday’s game. Saturday’s game will mark the final time South Carolina and Arkansas meet as constant inter-divisional opponents. Atlanta heads into a bye week at 1-4 on the season. The Falcons also announced on Tuesday they will be one of three NFL teams hosting games at London’s Wembley Stadium next season. They other two are Jacksonville and Oakland.

*The Carolina Panthers have waived former Appalachian State quarterback Armanti Edwards. The Panthers were playing him at receiver where he only tallied five receptions over four seasons for 121 yards.

*The Boston Red Sox beat the Tampa Bay Rays 3-1 Tuesday night to win their best-of-five American League Division Series 3 games to 1 and advance to the AL Championship Series for the first time in five years. Boston will play the winner of the Division Series between the Detroit Tigers and the Oakland A’s.

*The Detroit Tigers defeated the Oakland A’s 8-6 Tuesday to even up their AL Division Series at 2-2 and force a deciding Game 5 Thursday in Oakland.
