Week one consumed by plaintiff’s side

A wound specialist from New York City gave the final testimony to end week one of an Oconee civil trial in which a nursing and rehabilitation facility is accused of medical malpractice. And, from indications at Oconee Courthouse, the jury and other trial parties can expect a second full week of trial beginning Monday. This is the case of Russell Reynolds III, personal representative of the estate of Dorothy Reynolds against Sava Senior Care, also known as Seneca Health and Rehabilitation. Two entities with a business relationship to the facility are also defendants. On Friday plaintiff’s witness Dr. Jeffrey Levine used the terms “pretty careless, pretty reckless” to describe his view of the way Seneca Health and Rehabilitation treated the late Dorothy Reynolds. Late Friday afternoon plaintiff’s lawyer Gary Poliakoff completed his examination of the witness and gave way to his counterpart, defense attorney Lori Proctor, who then started cross-examining Dr. Levine.
