Welcome Center traffic mishap

A van jumped the curb this morning at the South Carolina Welcome Center in Fair Play and damaged the structure for the vending machines. According to responders, the driver was sent to the hospital to be evaluated. A second person was momentarily trapped in the wreckage, but declined medical attention. According to Fair Play Fire Department, the damage to the vending machine area necessitated closing that area at least temporarily.
