West-Oak, Seneca win in openers

In 96.3 WGOG’s High School Football Game of the Week Friday, the West-Oak Warriors opened the season with a 21-7 victory over inter-county rival Walhalla at Warrior Field in Westminster. Landon Owen led the way for the Warriors by scoring all three of his teams touchdowns. Walhalla scored its only points on a 15 yard scoring run late in the third quarter to finish the night with 157 yards on the ground.

In Greenville, the Seneca Bobcats opened the season with a 49-34 win over the Greenville High Red Raiders at Sirrine Stadium on the city’s West End. The Bobcat’s Braxton Gambrell rushed for a game-high 184 yards and three scores.
